The city recorded the warmest day of the season on Friday as the maximum temperature touched 28.4 degrees Celsius, six degrees above normal for this time of the year.

The minimum temperature was also high at 9.6 degrees Celsius, two degrees above normal. Saturday is also set to be exceptionally warm with the Met office predicting a maximum temperature of 29 degrees. “Saturday morning will see shallow fog. The morning will also be very warm as the temperature is expected to be around 12 degrees,” the weatherman said.

According to Met statistics, the record for the highest maximum temperature for the month of February is 34.1 degrees recorded on 26th which was recorded in 2006. The record minimum for the month is 1.6 degrees on February 9, 1982.
