Gang robbing passengers in bus busted

The police have busted a gang, more commonly known as 'Karate gang', involved in robbing bus passengers in the Capital.

The police have busted a gang, more commonly known as 'Karate gang', involved in robbing bus passengers in the Capital.

"We have apprehended 11 members of the dreaded gang from Rohini on Thursday following an input that they would gather to rob passengers in a bus," said Chhaya Sharma, deputy commissioner of police (outer).

"They had decided that seven of them would board the bus while the rest would follow them on autos and motorcycles. Those arrested are Nand Kishore alias 'Karate' (38), Ajid Hussain (34), Man Singh (32), Mukesh (35), Sanjay (22), Manoj (19), Virender (19), Niraj (22), Ajay (23), Ram Achal (42) and Sumit (23)," said a senior police officer.

Police said Kishore, previously involved in at least 30 cases, used to insist that all members come prepared with knives or surgical blades.
