ML Gautam, the retired clerk has named nine officials of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) who may have been involved in the housing scheme 2008.

The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) said that during his interrogation, Gautam had named 18 people of which nine were DDA officials.
“We have questioned the nine DDA officials. All of them are giving conflicting statements. We are investigating their role,” said a senior police officer.
They had also sent a questionnaire to the officials and had asked them to be a part of the probe into the housing fraud, the police added. They were conducting raids at Gurgaon, Rajasthan and other parts of Haryana to trace the two property dealers — Suresh Kumar Meena and Vijay Kumar who are still absconding. “A non-bailable warrant was issued against the two property dealers. The court has asked them to appear on or before February 28,” said the officer.
Police said they have identified the “five financiers” who reportedly pumped in money through Gautam to buy the application forms for the housing scheme.
So far six people have been arrested in the case.
“We are also looking for the DDA official who had rented a flat to M.L. Gautam. It was from this flat that Gautam had processed the application forms. So far we have not found any rent agreement and the DDA official is evading our calls,” said the officer.
Police said they were also scanning the mobile phone records of all the persons whom Gautam has named to gather more evidence.
