The government has given the DMRC three months to prepare the report.
Sheila Dikshit said her government was keen on early commissioning of the project.
"We will call global tender for the project. The DMRC will look after the construction and commission of the project," the Delhi chief minister said after a meeting of stakeholders on the implementation of the project.
Dikshit added that her government would also consider extending the monorail to other parts of the city.
"In the first phase, we would like to build a corridor between Shastri Park and Trilokpuri in east Delhi. It has been proposed that the corridor may further be extended to Kashmere Gate ISBT and Delhi University, which we may consider in due course," said a Delhi government official.
The initial proposal for the monorail was prepared by the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC), which had commissioned a study to RITES.
