The tower had come up in the neighbourhood in July without the requisite permissions. To get it removed, the RWA carried out a signature campaign, met the deputy commissioner of south zone and also requested the mayor to carry out action.
On Tuesday, a team of officials from the municipal body visited the area and sealed the tower.
Calling it a monumental victory of the residents, Mallika Khurana, a member of the RWA, said that they are struggling to get towers removed from the area as they threaten the health of residents. The RWA has sent out letters to homes asking them not to allow the installation of new towers.
