The demolition was carried out by the building departments of the respective zones with the help of local police.

In south Delhi, action was taken against properties in Khanpur, Adhchini Enclave, Neb Sarai and Freedom Fighter Colony, etc., where massive unauthorised constructions were being reported. Using a large number of labours and equipment such as JCB, gas cutter and pneumatic hammer, the department demolished several floors and rooms in the properties.

In Najafgarh, two buildings were sealed for misuse of property, while in Rohini zone, portions of three buildings were demolished. "There will be further demolitions as builders keep building illegal structures," said a senior official.
