Kejriwal seeks Jung’s cooperation on CCTV installations across Delhi

The Aam Aadmi Party leader also urged Jung to direct Delhi Police to cooperate with the city government on the issue.

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday met Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung to seek his cooperation for installing CCTV cameras and lighting up dark spots across the Capital.

The Aam Aadmi Party leader also urged Jung to direct Delhi Police to cooperate with the city government on the issue.

“The LG has assured his full cooperation. He also directed special commissioner of police (Operations) Sundari Nanda to coordinate with the Delhi government for installation of CCTV cameras and lighting of dark spots in Delhi,” Kejriwal told the media.

In this year’s budget, the Delhi government made an initial allocation of Rs 200 crore for installation of CCTV cameras across the capital. The government has also identified 42,000 dark spots in the city and set aside Rs114 crore for lighting them up.
