L-G okays Rs. 1-cr relief for slain Delhi cop’s kin

Lt Governor, Najeeb Jung has accepted the request made on behalf of Delhi Traffic Police to increase the compensation money given to the kin of traffic constable Manna Ram, who was killed on Saturday.

Lt Governor, Najeeb Jung has accepted the request made on behalf of Delhi Traffic Police to increase the compensation money given to the kin of traffic constable Manna Ram, who was killed on Saturday.

Special commissioner of police (traffic), Muktesh Chander, on behalf of the department, had requested Jung to increase the compensation money to Rs. 1 crore looking at the financial condition of Ram’s family.

On Tuesday, the LG accepted the request and also assured that all required help would be provided to the family of the deceased cop along with a possible job. Ram’s family is housed in a small village in Nagaur district of Rajasthan. Manna Ram was the sole bread winner of his family of six.
