Left parties protest rising prices, jam roads

Motorists had a tough time as traffic crawled on several arterial as well as radial roads in central Delhi for several hours on Friday. According to Delhi traffic police, traffic had to be either stopped or diverted at several intersections in Connaught Place and its radial roads, as workers of a political party took out a rally against rising food prices.

Motorists had a tough time as traffic crawled on several arterial as well as radial roads in central Delhi for several hours on Friday. According to Delhi traffic police, traffic had to be either stopped or diverted at several intersections in Connaught Place and its radial roads, as workers of a political party took out a rally against rising food prices.

There was heavy traffic disruption at places including Barakhamba Road, Parliament Street, Kasturba Gandhi Marg, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, Janpath, Ashoka Road, Ranjit Singh Marg and other radial roads in New Delhi area.

“I was again late for office. I don’t know why the traffic police allow protest marches in central delhi area and that too during peak office hour,” said Nauhar Kaul, a bank official.

Traffic movement normalised only after 2 pm.
