A 32-year-old man allegedly committed suicide in Anand Parvat area on Saturday night, with police, based on preliminary investigations, attributing the incident to the deceased's depression over financial problems.

The man has been identified as Ratan Kumar, a factory worker, police said. "He was found hanging from the ceiling fan on Sunday morning in the factory where he worked at. No suicide note was recovered. He did not go back home on Saturday night and his body was discovered on Sunday morning. Prima facie it appears that he was suffering from some financial problems. We have sent the body for postmortem and are further investigations are underway," said a senior police officer.
