The announcement was made after opposition members from Congress party created ruckus at a committee meeting on Wednesday.
The meeting witnessed a bitter exchange between Congress and the ruling BJP members when leader of Opposition Jai Kishen Sharma raised the issue saying: “June 30 was the deadline for completion of CWG related works.”
“Despite the fact that Delhi government gave Rs 939.6 crore for Games-related projects, most projects remain incomplete as on date,” Sharma said.
He then read out a list of incomplete projects when the BJP members objected and said the work is almost done. Chandolia later asked MCD Commissioner K.S. Mehra to provide a clear picture on the status of all repair works.
Mehra said: “Almost 95 per cent of the work is complete. Roads surrounding stadiums are done; streetscaping projects are complete; only those venues/projects remain incomplete where MTNL or NDPL are supposed to lay lines.”
“My men have assured that work would be over by July 15. I say, it will be complete in all respects by July 31,” he added.
