Delhi University’s University College of Medical Sciences (UCMS) will soon offer super-speciality courses in some departments for its students.

The medical college, which is attached to east Delhi’s 1000-bedded Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital, on Wednesday awarded degrees to 156 out-going MBBS, MD/MS and BSc students during its annual day.
Minister of human resource development, MM Pallam Raju, and vice-chancellor (DU), Dinesh Singh, were present at the event.
“India is growing by a rapid pace and lot of world challenges is ahead of you in health care sectors. Our duty is to realise the existing standards of medical sciences, the needs of its workers, developmental changes, which are to be maintained with proper advancement. A lot is to be done in the rural part of the country,” the minister said.
The college has alotted 150 seats for its MBBS course and 122 seats for various postgraduate courses. The courses include anesthesiology, anatomy, biochemistry, forensic medicine, obstetrics among others.
