Minors held for raping student, 1 accused at large

A 15-year-old student was allegedly raped by two minors and a man in east Delhi’s Ghazipur locality on Tuesday, police said. HT reports.

A 15-year-old student was allegedly raped by two minors and a man in east Delhi’s Ghazipur locality on Tuesday, police said.

According to the police, the incident happened when the victim, a Class 10 student, left her residence in Ghazipur for her aunt’s place in Mayur Vihar.
She had just stepped out of her house when one of the accused, a 16-year-old known to the victim, offered her a lift, said a senior police officer. The victim agreed since she knew him.

But instead of taking her to Mayur Vihar, he allegedly drove her to an isolated place in Ghazipur where two of his associates were waiting.

The victim told the police that the juvenile and one Naushad, who is in his early twenties, took turns to rape her.

“A medical test has confirmed rape. She identified the rapists and the two accused juveniles have been apprehended,” the officer said.

A case of rape has been registered and the police are looking for Naushad.
