The officer, who was the ADG of the department's vigilance wing, had allegedly not returned two files related to a vigilance case regarding reimbursement of house tax on rented building, they said.

Initially, the complaint was made in July 2010 but recently the Telecom department came to know that the officer's name was not mentioned in the FIR.

The department also stressed that despite its complaint, the FIR pointed out that the files went missing when it was being transfered from an office in Khurshid Lal Bhavan to Sanchar Bhavan.

"Factually, the said files were handed over/submitted to the ex-ADG, Department of Telecom (Vigilance Wing) Sanchar Bhawan against whom the FIR was requested to be lodged in the case. The said files are still untraceable," the department said in its fresh complaint.

A case under Section 408 (criminal breach of trust by a government servant) of the IPC was registered against the said.
