New evaluation system to help DU declare results in a fortnight

What is more is that the students will get a marksheet online the same day.
The university has adopted a new evaluation technique under which three teachers will check one answer script. If one answer sheet, for example, has six answers, each teacher will check two answers each.
According to the university administration, the process is fairer and speeds up evaluation and results will be declared quickly. “I am very confident that the results will be out in two weeks after the exams end. Students will also get their marksheets on the day results are declared and these will only have to be stamped by the college principal," said Vice Chancellor Dinesh Singh.
On the first day of evaluation, some glitches were seen as it was not clear how the 'three teachers and one answer sheet' system would work.
But some teachers have also questioned the process altogether. Those opposing the new evaluation policy turned up at the centres wearing black bands. Members of the Delhi University Teachers' Association (DUTA) have also protested against the policy change under which the system of revaluation has also been discarded.
The V-C, meanwhile, held an open house to listen to the grievances of students and teachers on Thursday. DUTA members did not participate.
Complaints of students were mostly related to exams and attendance. After a number of students complained against the decision to do away with the provision of giving students a special chance to complete their degrees after a long gap, the university said their requests would be looked into again next year.
The standing committee of the academic council had denied a special chance to 25 students.
