New influenza strains surface

Two other influenza virus strains have been detected in samples analysed this year. Apart from H1N1-- H3N2 and influenza B strains have also been found.

The Delhi government has decided there is no need for vaccination against the disease in the present scenario, and no prophylactic treatment is required in most cases, except high-risk people mostly above 65 years of age. No hospitalization is necessary in patients showing mild symptoms, however, people need to be careful and if symptoms persist for more than 5 days and become severe, one must see a doctor.
