No respite from record heat

And according to the weatherman, the coming days are not going to be any better. The maximum temperature on Wednesday is expected to be around 42 degrees. But relief in the form of thunder and rain showers could bring some cheer.

"While Thursday is expected to be cloudy, wind and thunderstorm could be seen in the evening. On Thursday, the maximum temperature is expected to be around 41 degrees but thunder and rainstorms are expected in different parts of the city in the evening," said an official at the India Meteorological Department.

On Tuesday, the minimum temperature was recorded as 26.7 degrees, two degrees below normal. The city saw a sudden rain on Friday after which the temperature dipped.
