No respite from rising temperature

The maximum temperature rose from Friday’s 40.1 degree Celsius to to 40.5 degree Celsius which is five degree above normal.

The minimum was recorded at 23.3 degree Celsius, which is also three notches above normal.

On Friday, the minimum temperature was recorded at 21.6 degrees Celsius.

Last year, the maximum temperature in April had touched 43.5 degrees which was the second highest in the last 65 years.

The Met department’s forecast said the maximum and the minimum temperatures will be around 40 and 23 degree C respectively on Sunday.

Delhi also experienced unusually hot days last month, which the MeT Department said was the second warmest March for the city since 1901.

The mercury had touched 39.2 degree Celsius on March 21 this year which was the second highest maximum temperature in the month of March in the past 65 years.
