The airport was already facing near zero visibility on Sunday evening and flight disruptions are expected till Monday morning. “Visibility will remain very poor due to dense fog from Sunday night to 10.30am on Monday,” said R.K. Jenamani, Director-in-charge, IGIA met unit. “There could be some respite from fog after December 30, but it will not be a long one.”
“The airport has entered what we call ‘phase locking’ and we are in for a continuous spell of dense fog,” he added.
