After being barred by the High Court from striking work, the teachers’ body is looking to mobilize student support. The two-page pamphlet states that the semester system will promote rote learning as it is ill-designed. The notice also mentions that as the courses were passed in the Academic Council illegally, the graduation degree for science students under the semester system might not be considered valid. It also outlines the fact that the compressed academic schedule will not allow students to pursue any extra-curricular activities.

"We are disturbed by what is going on. Every other day there are strikes. We are still unsure if the semester system will be implemented and now this notice says that our degrees may not even be valid," said a perturbed Ragini Ahluwalia, a first-year student of Chemistry (Honours) of Hindu College.

Meanwhile the teachers’ association will hold a dharna outside vice chancellor Dinesh Singh’s office on Wednesday to demand immediate reversion of the steps taken toward what they call "arbitrary and ill-conceived decision to impose semester system in the science courses at the undergraduate level in the varsity".
