Over 76,000 acres of land acquired by DDA

Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has acquired over 76,000 acres of land for various development activities out of which 1402.16 acres have been encroached upon, government said on Friday.

Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has acquired over 76,000 acres of land for various development activities out of which 1402.16 acres have been encroached upon, government said on Friday.

Since its inception in 1957, the capital's premier housing agency acquired 76,460 acres of land for various development purposes.

"The DDA has informed that 1,402.16 acres of government land acquired for public purposes has been encroached upon in various parts of Delhi," Minister of State for Urban Development Saugata Roy informed Lok Sabha today.

He said the DDA has constructed as well as facilitated construction of more than ten lakh dwelling units, launched 43 housing schemes and allotted land to 126 societies for development besides other activities.
