Accusing Pakistan of trying to pass the buck on the issue of taking action against terrorists, the Congress on Sunday said Islambad had not shown any "real will" to take remedial action following Mumbai attacks.

"They don't show anything concrete. They have not demonstrated any actionable real will to remedy something or even begin to remedy it," AICC spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi told NDTV.

He was responding to Pakistan's Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani's statement that, "Instead of placing the onus for India's security on Pakistan, we expect the Indian government to respond positively to our proposals for pragmatic and constructive engagement on countering terrorism."

Gilani made the comment in response to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's remarks asking Pakistan to "ensure against attacks like Mumbai and the (bombing of the) Indian embassy in Kabul, as well as to measure up to its words by actions."

Singhvi said Gilani's statement showed Pakistan's hypocrisy.

India has "given Pakistan maximum chances to rectify and this is an opportunity for Pakistan to respond positively.... We know from the last two months what concrete steps Pakistan has taken. These statements only pass on the buck," he said.
