Part-time actor arrested for two murders, robbery

But for South Delhi Police, Rahimuddin is a major catch — wanted for a slew of robberies and two murders and with a bounty of Rs. 75,000 on his head. According to police, he has run away from police custody twice, including once when the Special Cell of the Delhi Police arrested him.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) HGS Dhaliwal said, “Rahimuddin, a resident of Ghaziabad (UP), is involved in several murder cases and was currently working as part-time actor in Bollywood. A pistol and two live cartridges have been recovered from him. He was apprehended on Tuesday from DLF Emporio Mall in Vasant Kunj.”

The police said that on the run he did various odd jobs, like manufacturing fireworks used in wedding functions before working in films.

During questioning, Dhaliwal claimed, Rahimuddin told police that he was involved in two murder cases.

“He dropped out of school and started working at a manufacturing unit of fireworks. Later, he became a local goon and allegedly murdered his rival Zulfikar in 2003. After escaping from the custody of Uttar Pradesh police, he went to Mumbai and started working in a ladies bag manufacturing unit. There, he came in contact with some part-time actors and
also started working in Bollywood. He worked there up to December 2007 and came back to Delhi.”

The police said that he started his own business of fireworks and started living in a rented accommodation in Sonia Vihar.

During this period, he allegedly committed another murder and was arrested in July 2009 for the crime.

“He hardly remained in jail for one month before managing to escape from custody while police were escorting him to a Ghaziabad court. After the escape, he went to Mumbai and started working in Bollywood again,” added Dhaliwal.
