PM announces Rs 2 lakh ex-gratia to earthquake victims
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today announced Rs two lakh as ex-gratia to next of kin of those killed in the earthquake and Rs one lakh each for those seriously injured.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Monday announced Rs two lakh as ex-gratia to next of kin of those killed in the earthquake and Rs one lakh each for those seriously injured.
"The Prime Minister has sanctioned an ex-gratia of Rs two lakh each to the next of kin of the persons deceased and Rs one lakh each to those seriously injured," PMO officials said.
At least 36 people were killed and over a hundred injured in the 6.8 magnitude tremblor which has caused extensive damage to buildings and roads in Sikkim and several other places in the eastern parts of the country.
