Politicos attend CBI chief Ranjit Sinha daughter's wedding reception

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress president Sonia Gandhi, chief justice of India (CJI) P Sathasivam, union ministers, senior bureaucrats and opposition politicians attended the wedding reception of CBI director Ranjit Sinha’s daughter Rudrani Sinha on Friday in New Delhi.

Rudrani got married to Chhattisgarh cadre IAS officer Awanish Kumar Sharan on July 13 in Patna.

Besides the PM, Sonia and CJI, union ministers-Jayanti Natrajan, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Kamal Nath, Salman Khurshid, Kapil Sibbal - senior lawyer Ram Jethmalani, BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad, Attorney General Goolam Vahanvati and former Chhattisgarh chief minister Ajit Jogi were also present at the wedding reception held at 2, Janpath, the official residence of CBI director New Delhi.

Awanish is currently posted as municipal commissioner in Bilaspur while Rudrani is working as an analyst in the National Technology Research Organisation, on deputation from the Intelligence Bureau.
