Pratibha Patil's resignation accepted

The resignation of Pratibha Patil as Rajasthan Governor has been accepted by President APJ Abdul Kalam on Friday.
He has asked Haryana Governor AR Kidwai to discharge the functions of the Rajasthan Governor in addition to his own duties, a Rashtrapati Bhavan communique said.
Patil, who has been chosen as the UPA-Left nominee for the Presidential poll, is filing her nomination on Saturday.
