Prof indicted for sexual harassment

The Executive Council (EC) of Delhi University on Friday indicted Prof. J.P. Shrivastava in a case of sexual harassment and debarred him from holding any administrative post for the next five years.

A complaint of sexual harassment had been filed against Shrivastava, head of geology department, on January 30 last year.

“He cannot hold any administrative posts like HoD and no women candidates will do PhD under him,” an EC member said, on conditions of anonymity.

A probe into a complaint of professional misconduct has been ordered against Amitab Gupta, a reader at the financial studies department, South Campus.
