Naqvi, who was BJP spokesperson during turbulent times during the NDA rule, was pressed into service as regular spokespersons were either away or reluctant to face the media — in the wake of internal war over leadership after the poll debacle.

Naqvi managed a smile during the press briefing on Wednesday.

“The national executive discusses all issues but it is not possible to say now what issues will be discussed. We shall be discussing organisational and all important issues related to the Lok Sabha polls,” he said.

He said the conclave would also finalise the new membership drive that will be conducted after six years as this is the year for the BJP’s organisational elections. The conclave would adopt a political resolution.
