“At least 30 per cent people residing in mixed land use properties were unable to get building plans sanctioned because of a lack of clarity on the issue. We will pass a resolution spelling out its on Wednesday.... We will also... notify 44 pedestrian shopping streets, commercial streets and mixed use streets under mixed use regulations,” standing committee chairman Vijendra Gupta said.

On mixed land use streets, commercial use has been restricted to the ground floor, after paying a conversion charge. Basements can be used for retail purposes on both mixed land use and commercial streets after paying conversion charge for additional floor area ratio (FAR).

On non-notified stretches, basements can be used for business only by professionals like lawyers, doctors and CAs.

A residential plot on commercial land can be used for business after paying conversion charge.
