“My comments were wrongly interpreted. Maybe I used the wrong words. But I was trying to talk about power conservation,” Dikshit said on Monday.

Addressing a public meeting at Aya Nagar in south Delhi, Dikshit had stated that consumers will have to pay if they wanted round-the-clock power supply. She had advised them to cut down on their power consumption by limiting the use of electrical appliances if they couldn’t afford the power bill.

Her remarks had drawn strong criticism from BJP and Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party.
