Six venues now under police's integrated 'eye'

With less than a week for the athletes to arrive, Delhi Police has finally managed to link six of the 13 competition venues with their multi-crore Command Control Coordination and Communication Centre (C4i) at the police headquarters. Vijaita Singh reports.

With less than a week for the athletes to arrive, Delhi Police has finally managed to link six of the 13 competition venues with their multi-crore Command Control Coordination and Communication Centre (C4i) at the police headquarters.

Live feed from these venues would be displayed on giant screens at the C4i. Seven other venues, including the Jawahar Lal Nehru stadium, are yet to be synchronised with the C4i.

"We are now able to control the movement of the close circuit television camera fitted at the venues sitting at this centre," said Karnal Singh, Joint Commissioner of Police (northern range) who is overseeing the operations. Police said that integration of the remaining venues could be done only after construction work there gets over.
