Sonia condemns Ahmedabad serial blasts

Congress President Sonia Gandhi expressed "deep shock" over the 16 serial blasts that rocked Ahmedabad on Saturday evening, killing 14 people.

Congress President and United Progressive Alliance chairperson Sonia Gandhi expressed "deep shock" over the 16 serial blasts that rocked the western Indian city of Ahmedabad on Saturday evening, killing 14 people.

Gandhi condemned the killing of innocent civilians and termed the blasts an "act of desperation with a view to disturb the peace and harmony in the country".

Saturday's bomb blasts are the second in as many days. Eight serial blasts had rocked the southern IT hub of Bangalore Friday, killing one person and injuring many more.
