Special cell cops’ relatives found murdered

Three young men are found murdered in an abandoned car near Meerut. Two of them are related to Special Cell policemen who were instrumental in nabbing Brijesh Singh, a dreaded gangster of UP, reports Vijaita Singh.

Two of them were related to Special Cell policemen who were instrumental in nabbing Brijesh Singh, a dreaded gangster of Uttar Pradesh, in January this year. The police did not rule out that the trio’s murder might have been fallout of that arrest.

The bodies of Sunil Dhaka (27), Sudhir Kumar (23) and Puneet Giri (24) were found in an abandoned Maruti Esteem car at Paleni in Baghpat district.

The police said while Puneet and Sudhir had been bundled in the boot of the car, Sunil was found on the rear seat of the car bearing a Delhi registration number.

Puneet and Sudhir were final-year students of MA in military science from Meerut College. Puneet lived in a hostel there and Sudhir was living with one of his uncles in the college complex. Puneet was the nephew of Inspector S.K. Giri, posted with Special Cell who had arrested Brijesh Singh from Orissa earlier this year. Sunil Dhaka, a railway contractor was the brother of Constable Sunil Dhaka posted with Special cell.

“Robbery does not seem to be the motive as their gold rings and wallets are intact. We have informed their family members,” said Kripashankar, SP, Baghpat.

While Puneet was strangulated to death, the other two were attacked with a sharp weapon on their neck.

A case of murder has been registered at the local police station.
