A cave-in at the Sangam Vihar T-point in RK Puram on the Rao Tula Ram Marg occurred around 2.45pm. A low-floor DTC bus plying on the route got stuck in the cave-in. Another breach was reported from Patel Nagar main road opposite the Shadipur depot, officials said.

“Some portion of the road settled down due to seepage of water and subsequent loosening of the earth under it. It was immediately repaired, the road surface levelled and vehicular movement was resumed,” said Deep Mathur, MCD’s director (Press and Information).

At the Sangam Cinema T-point spot, Mathur said, work to replace a water pipeline was completed 2-3 days ago. “Apparently, it was not done properly and hence led to the cave-in,” he said adding, “It too was repaired later.”

A small cave-in on the Capt Gaur Marg at Okhla was caused due to leakage in a DJB pipeline and the problem was soon rectified, a senior PWD official said. A 4X4 feet cave-in was reported on Mathura road, said traffic police personnel.
