Opposition JD-U on Thursday termed as "directionless" the Justice Srikrishna Committee report on Telangana and accused Congress of "dilly-dallying" in taking a decision.

"This is a directionless report and has no significance. It has come under the influence of the ruling party. Instead of giving a solution, it is making suggestions. The issue remains stuck," he said.

Yadav alleged that the ruling party does not want to settle the issue once and for all.

He, however, parried questions as to whether he favoured Telangana statehood.

"Congress mishandled the issue and brought the situation to this level. They allied with Telangana Rashtriya Samiti, which was for creation of Telangana state, and yet they kept dilly-dallying the matter.

"Then, Home Minister P Chidambaram made a sudden announcement on Telangana. This is a complex issue and should have been handled with care," he added.
