The unions are protesting the centre’s economic policy, price rise and violation of labour rights.

In Delhi, for all those who depend on public transport, it will be mixed scenario. Auto rickshaws will stay off the roads, but the Delhi Metro will function, and as Delhi transport minister Ramakant Goswami assured, so will DTC and cluster buses.

Petrol pumps in Delhi and other cities could face dry outs. “While petrol pumps will function normally, there is a possibility of dry outs at few pumps as labour filling fuel in tankers at fuel supply depots will be on strike,” said Ajay Bansal, general secretary of the Federation of All-India Petroleum Traders.

Nationalised banks and a large number of private banks are also likely to be affected.
