Tata said he met Singh to introduce C L Max Nikias, the President of the University of Southern California (USC), who is keen to collaborate with India.

"He (Nikias) is interested in reaching out to do more with India. I have undertaken the responsibility to introduce him to India and we paid a courtesy call to the Prime Minister," Tata told reporters here.

The USC delegation has also met entrepreneurs, educators and elected officials to exchange ideas about possible avenues for collaboration.

Tata said Nikias was here with a delegation to see how India and the University of Southern California can come close.

The university plans to expand its recognition in India by setting up offices in New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore.
