The All India Tax Advocate Forum has urged Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit to immediately withdraw a tax department notification making it mandatory for dealers to submit details of all documents regarding goods received from outside Delhi before they enter the city, HT reports.

The AITAF said such “procedural hurdles” would seriously affect the growth of trade and business and hit revenue generation. AITAF president MK Gandhi said imposition of such conditions would halt development in Delhi.
The department of trade and taxes of the Delhi government has issued the notification, which will come into effect from October 1.
“The government is making tax administration more cumbersome,” he said.
