Teenaged girl raped by 12-year-old in Tilak Marg

In a shocking incident, a 12-year-old boy allegedly raped a 14-year-old girl in Tilak Marg area of New Delhi district. According to police, the girl was alone at home when the boy allegedly entered the house and raped her.

The accused is a son of an IAS officer's domestic help and lives in the servant's quarters behind the house of the officer.

The police said the incident happened on Wednesday afternoon and that the girl informed her parents about the incident on their return. They then took her to the police station.

The victim was sent for medical examination to the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.

"Rape was confirmed in her medical examination after which we lodged a case regarding the incident and detained the accused boy. He has been sent to a children's observation home," added the officer.

Police said the boy might also be sent for a psychological evaluation, so that they know the reasons why he committed the crime. Police added that the victim’s mother also works as a domestic help. Both the victim and the accused are students in a nearby government school.
