“Quizzing is both intellectually challenging and financially rewarding,” said Rishabh Banthia, member of Illuminati, the quizzing club of the College of Business Studies.
Banthia has won Rs. 50,000 and goodies like laptops, MP3 players by winning iquiz contests.
However, money alone is not the driving force.
“We take street theatre seriously,” said Udit Mukim, director of Ankur, the dramatics society of SGTB Khalsa.
“In the wake of the continuous terrorist attacks and cultural clashes among India’s youth, street theatre is increasingly moving beyond campus to the roads,” said Mukim.
Positions of responsibility in societies also brighten chances of campus placement.
“Some companies give extra weightage to display of leadership qualities. It especially helps in getting through preliminary screening rounds when only a resume represents you,” said Ayushi Kalra, who was president of Verve, the street play society of CBS and ecently sat for placements.
