Traffic cops held for taking bribe

A head constable and constable were arrested on Friday by the anti-corruption branch (ACB) while accepting a bribe of Rs 1,500 from a blue line bus owner.

The duo had stopped a bus of the complainant in the morning and asked for ‘monthly’ charges to allow him to ply the bus. Sources said while the complainant’s assistant gave him some money, the owner approached the ACB.

DCP (ACB) I D Shukla said, “The duo have been arrested and a case registered against them under sections 7 and 13 (1)(d) of the Prevention of Corruption Act and section 120 (b) of the Indian Penal Code.”
