On Thursday police arrested the two brothers — Dileep Kumar and Sanjay — for the crime. Sanjay is an autorickhsaw driver and has two criminal cases against him. The victim identified as Aslam, a casual labourer, was eating eggs at a roadside stall in Naraina when the incident took place on Sunday night.

While eating, Aslam was also listening to music on his mobile phone. He had switched on the loudspeaker. Three men came to the stall and asked Aslam to turn down the volume.

When he refused and altercation occurred between them and the accused beat him up with a wooden staff lying nearby,” said Sharad Aggarwal, deputy commissioner of police (southwest).
