Two people were arrested in New Delhi on Friday for allegedly shooting at a property dealer in south Delhi, injuring him severely, police said.

“The incident took place late Thursday in Neb Sarai area. The victim, Naresh, told us that while he was returning home from the gymnasium last night, he was stopped by four people identified as Ram Prasad, Puneet, Virender Kumar and Deepak,” a police officer said.
“He ran away but the accused followed him. He was shot at by Virender and Deepak and he suffered injuries on his back and shoulder,” he added.
Naresh was admitted to Batra Hospital.
“Raids were conducted at various places. Virender Kumar, 30, and Deepak, 24, were arrested. Two country-made pistols were also recovered from them,” the official said.
“Searches are on to nab the other two accused,” he added.
“On interrogation, they disclosed that they had some enmity with the injured over the ownership of a shop in Sangam Vihar area and they had quarrelled in the past also. All the accused are school dropouts and local ruffians and are often involved in anti-social activities in the area,” the officer said.
