With the highest single vote value of 208 in an assembly of 403, the largest state has the distinction of being on the top with a total vote value of an MLA at 83,824.
In sharp contrast, the vote value of each MLA in the tiny state of Sikkim is only seven and the total vote value of the state is just 224.
The case of smaller states like Mizoram, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Meghalaya in the North East as also Goa in the West and Puducherry in the South is no different.
After Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra comes next in terms of total vote value with 50,400, followed by West Bengal at 44,394, Andrha Pradesh 43,512, Bihar at 42,039 and Tamil Nadu at 41,184.
The vote value of each member of Parliament is higher and has been put at 708.
The 776 MPs, including 543 in the Lok Sabha and 233 in the Rajya Sabha, totally account for almost half of the total value of votes of the electoral college. It accounts for 5,49,408.
The total value of votes of all the 30 states, including Delhi and Puducherry, which have 4,120 MLAs, is almost the same at 5,49,474.
