Verified maid drugs women in S Delhi

Two young women were reportedly drugged by their domestic help and robbed of cash and valuables in Sarvodaya Enclave in south Delhi.

Two young women were reportedly drugged by their domestic help and robbed of cash and valuables in Sarvodaya Enclave in south Delhi two days ago. The women lay unconscious for more than 24 hours in their house till friends found them.

What is surprising is that the employers had got the antecedents of the help checked when she was hired two years ago. After drugging the victims and taking away their valuables and cash, the domestic help, identified as Lucy Minz (22), tore her servant verification form that was kept in the cupboard and also took away her photograph pasted on it. She also destroyed the SIM cards of the mobile phones of the women.

The victims identified as Saloni Mahajan and Sharan Suri live in D Block in Sarvodaya Enclave. Saloni is working in the sales department of HT Media Limited and Sharan is working at the British Council. While Saloni's parents came and took her back to Chandigarh, Saran is staying at her friend's house in Niti Bagh.

“We panicked when all our calls to Sharan went unanswered. When I reached her house, I found them unconscious and the house was ransacked,” said Rajeev Yadav, a friend of Sharan. Rajeev found them on Friday around 6 p.m.

Sharan’s friends said they tried to contact Lucy on her mobile phone and she picked up the phone. “We have told police to track her mobile,” said Yadav.

Police said that Lucy had been hired through Ujjwal Placement Agency and they were now taking their help to trace the accused. Lucy, who is from Orissa, was living in the servant quarters and was recently visited by one of her “male accomplices”, police said.

Lucy decamped with two laptops, a Rado watch, mobile phones, gold jewellery and cash.
