Water tanker crushes toddler in Aman Vihar
A two-and-half-year-old boy was crushed by a private water tanker in outer Delhi’s Aman Vihar area on Tuesday morning, HT reports.
A two-and-half-year-old boy was crushed by a private water tanker in outer Delhi’s Aman Vihar area on Tuesday morning. Local residents alleged that the driver of the tanker had his earphones on. So engrossed was he in the music that did not even stop after hitting the boy despite locals shouting at him to stop.

The boy, identified as Aman, was the son of a factory worker and was playing outside his house when he was hit by a tanker.
“Tankers usually supply water in this area. On Tuesday, one of them crushed the boy. We have arrested the driver, Danish, who too lives in Aman Vihar. He used to park the tanker outside his house and take it out in the morning to fill water,” a senior police officer said.
Police said that the boy came under the front wheels of the truck, but the driver did not stop the vehicle. The locals chased him and forced him to stop. “Had the driver stopped as soon as he hit the boy, the child’s life could have been saved. But he kept on driving and was unaware of anything as he had his earphones on,” Naresh, a local resident, said.
The boy was immediately rushed to a private hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination. Doctors said the boy died due to head injuries and excessive bleeding.
