A woman fighting a legal battle for the custody of her one-year-old love child got him back in court today from a couple to whom she had handed the baby to avoid social stigma.

A woman fighting a legal battle for the custody of her one-year-old love child on Thursday got him back in court from a couple to whom she had handed the baby to avoid social stigma.

The couple, who had allegedly refused to return the child to the woman and her lover-turned-husband and biological father of the child, brought the boy to court which handed over his custody to his biological mother and father.

The couple were allegedly handed over the new-born baby by the woman for temporary upkeep before her marriage. They had earlier contended that a Metropolitan Magistrate had no power to decide the custody issue which could be settled either by the District Judge or a Guardianship court.
