A 34-year-old woman, who was locked in her Jaitpur house by her husband, was rescued by police on Sunday.

It was the woman’s uncle who had called for help from the police. She was taken to a hospital soon after her rescue.
Investigations revealed that the woman was suffering from tuberculosis and her husband had not allowed her to meet her relatives for the past three months.
"Kavita, 34 is currently being treated at a private hospital. She was not given food for the past one week. The password of her room’s electronic lock was with her husband," a senior police officer said.
"Her husband has shown us the medical bills which suggest that she was being treated. But we still have to ascertain why he’d locked her up," the officer added. No case has been registered against him so far.
The police said there were three rooms in the house.
"Her husband claimed that he’d locked up his wife to avoid infection," he added.
