Police said the incident was reported from Sudhir Kumar Aggarwal’s (31) home in Sarai Rohilla’s L-block around 11 am — barely a kilometre from the area’s Assistant Commissioner of Police's (ACP) office.

“Two masked men with meat cleavers barged into the room, banged my head on the wall, twisted my arms and demanded me to tell them where I’d kept my jewellery and cash," said a tearful Monica Agarwal.

"In all, they seem to have fled with cash, jewellery and silver utensils worth Rs 4 lakh," Sudhir added. Police said a case had been registered.

"We have registered a case of robbery at the Sarai Rohilla Police Station and the matter is under investigation," said Karnal Singh, Joint CP (northern range).
