15 cadets from Sainik School, Sujanpur Tira, make it to NDA

Sainik Schools are managed by the Sainik Schools Society, which falls under the ministry of defence.

Fifteen cadets of Sainik School, Sujanpur Tira, have been selected for the National Defence Academy (NDA) at Khadakwasla, Pune.

The selected candidates are Suryansh Thakur, Abhishek Chandel, Haridas Kumar, Harsh Sharma, Anshul Thakur, Nitin Sharma, Himneesh, Aman Sohal, Rishabh Agnihotri, Kashish Guleria, Hritvik Passey, Anshuman Dhatwalia, Anish Kumar, Tanzin Rapingb and Anoop Kumar. Group captain AK Paul, principal, wing commander Jaskaran Singh Parmar, vice-principal, and lieutenant commander Sachin Verma, administrative officer, congratulated the cadets.

The cadets will go through a three-year training. Sainik Schools are managed by the Sainik Schools Society, which falls under the ministry of defence. The idea of Sainik Schools was conceived by VK Krishna Menon, the-then defence minister, in 1961. The aim was to correct class and regional imbalance amongst the officer cadre in the military. There are 26 such schools in the country.
